Todd Mikles
President & Chief Executive Officer
Todd A. Mikles, is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Sovereign Capital, a closely-held Delaware corporation. Since 1999, Mr. Mikles has proactively guided this successful real estate investment company from its humble beginnings to a nationwide real estate company.
Mr. Mikles began his career in finance at the Corporate Finance department of Lehman Brothers in 1996 where he was directly involved in the buying and selling of public and non-public bank holding companies in the Western United States. From there, Mr. Mikles joined, Amresco Advisors, a Dallas, Texas based firm, that specialized in offering advisory services to major pension funds and their trustees on making real estate loans to grocery anchored shopping centers in the Western United States. In this capacity, Mr. Mikles was responsible for underwriting, originating, recommending and servicing transactions for the board of trustees.
It was following this successful position that Mr. Mikles founded Sovereign Capital Companies, Inc. in 1999, and Sovereign Capital in 2001. Since then, Sovereign Capital and its closely held affiliates have grown to include nationwide asset management, property management, advisory services, private equity syndications and various property holdings across the United States. Mr. Mikles has been directly involved in the successful development and management of multi-family units, attached single family condominiums, medical office buildings, general office, flex-industrial properties, retail properties and specialized use buildings. Mr. Mikles is a graduate of the University of California, San Diego.
William White, CFA

William White, Senior Vice President. Prior to joining Sovereign Capital, Mr. White began his career as a market opportunity strategist with the Tokyo based, WTD. From there Mr. White joined Bank of America on the structured finance desk and later Assets Mondial, an offshore hedge fund, as a senior financial advisor for asset repositioning. Mr. White was previously a principal of San Francisco based Alexander Partners that focused on the syndication of real estate investments across the continental United States. Mr. White is a graduate of the University of California at Davis.
Steven M. Kries, Esq.
General Counsel
Steven M. Kries, Esq., General Counsel. Mr. Kries has been a practicing trial lawyer since 1993 and in-house litigation counsel since 1998. Mr. Kries has extensive experience in corporate and transactional matters, including the structuring and negotiation of joint ventures, commercial transactions, debt and equity financings, mergers and acquisitions, personal-property secured transactions, commercial law, business bankruptcy and securities related matters. Mr. Kries has represented real-property owners in matters ranging from negotiation, structuring and documentation of loan transactions to foreclosure, workouts and bankruptcy.
Bruce Coin
Chief Investment Officer
Bruce Coin, Chief Investment Officer. With more than 40 years experience in the inter-related disciplines of financing and appraising income properties, Mr. Coin has closed in excess of $1.5 billion of commercial mortgage financing on all types of income producing real estate. In 1970, he was instrumental in forming Fidelco Growth Investors, the first commercial mortgage R.E.I.T. in the Philadelphia region. He also co-founded and served for 35 years as managing director of Pro-gressive Mortgage Corporation, a commercial mortgage brokerage and consulting firm that he sold to the Philadelphia office of U.S. Realty Capital, LLC in 2007.
A published author and public speaker, Mr. Coin has lectured to joint undergraduate and MBA classes of the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School, as well as to classes of Temple and Weidner Universities. Just prior to associating with Sovereign Capital, he became an IDECC Certified Distance Education Instructor (CDEI).
Gary M. Bedoni, CPA, MBA
Chief Financial Officer
Gary M. Bedoni, CPA, MBA, Chief Financial Officer. Gary Bedoni is a certified public accountant with a masters degree in business administration (MBA). Mr. Bedoni has over ten years of complex tax and accounting experience which includes partnership syndication, complex partnership reporting, tax audit work and construction management. Mr. Bedoni was previously employed by Fairfield Residential prior to joining Sovereign. Mr. Bedoni is a graduate of the University of Illinois.
Michael Smith
Senior Vice President of Operations
Michael Smith, Senior Vice President of Operations. Since 2004, Mr. Smith has directed the management, leasing and positioning of Sovereign's commercial portfolio as well as the external management of other assets controlled by Sovereign. Mr. Smith is responsible for coordinating client, vendor, and tenant relations, lease negotiations, lease workouts, operating budget management, capital expenditure deployment and long term positioning of assets. Mr. Smith is a graduate of California State University, Long Beach.
Chad Wardwell
Senior Financial Analyst
Chad Wardwell, Senior Financial Analyst. Since 2003, Mr. Wardwell has provided extensive financial underwriting on real properties which have included multi-family, office, retail, industrial and self storage. Mr. Wardwell's vast underwriting experience has expanded over the last twenty four months to include commercial mortgage backed securities pools with similar asset classes. Mr. Wardwell brings an unparalleled approach to understanding and underwriting real properties. Mr. Wardwell is a graduate of California State University, San Marcos.
Mollie Boyce-Field
Director Investor Relations
Mollie Boyce-Field, Director Investor Relations. Ms. Field has an extensive background working with both investors and representatives in the alternative investment space. Mollie began her career in 1998 as an institutional sales trader for Cruttenden Roth and continued on to wholesale real estate and private placement investments for various investment sponsors. Her experience includes raising capital and building relationships in the broker-dealer community, and she is focused on managing client relationships and investment related issues. Ms. Field is a graduate of Westmont College in Santa Barbara, CA.
